Come and join the celebration as the Heritage City of Vigan celebrates its City Fiesta and the Longganisa Festival 2023! Every January 22, the locals of Vigan celebrate a longganisa-themed festival. Along with the celebration of Vigan's longganisa, the event is also to honor the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle (Vigan City's own patron saint).




The Longganisa Festival Street Dancing is an annual event that takes place in Vigan City, as part of the city's Longganisa Festival, which celebrates the local delicacy longganisa, a type of Filipino sausage. The street dancing event is a lively and colorful parade that features participants dressed in elaborate costumes and dancing to traditional Filipino music. The parade is a showcase of local culture, history, and creativity, as participants depict stories, characters and events related to the longganisa industry and Vigan culture.




The Cookfest Competition is usually held on the first or second day of the Longganisa festival, it is a great opportunity for visitors to try different types of longganisa, and for the locals to showcase their culinary skills and the rich taste of their longganisa. It is also a great opportunity for visitors to learn more about the rich culture of Vigan and the Philippines through food.




The Vigan City Grand Parade is an annual event that takes place on January 25th to commemorate the founding of the city of Vigan. The parade features a wide variety of participants, including local organizations, schools, and government agencies, who come together to showcase their cultural heritage and traditions through colorful floats and costumes. The parade route runs through the city's historic streets, passing by landmarks such as the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Calle Crisologo and the Vigan Cathedral. The event is attended by locals, tourists, and dignitaries, and is considered one of the most important cultural celebrations in the Ilocos region.
